39-year-old man drowns at Puçol beach
A man passed away on Sunday afternoon after being rescued showing signs of drowning at Puçol beach, Valencia. The incident occurred outside of lifeguard hours.

A 39-year-old man lost his life on Sunday afternoon at Puçol beach, located in the province of Valencia. According to information from the Valencian Community's Emergency Information and Coordination Center (CICU), the incident occurred while he was swimming outside the operating hours of the lifeguard service.
The emergency alert was received around 8:45 PM, after which a unit from the Valencian Community Ambulance Service (SAMU) and a health transport unit were dispatched to the scene. Despite emergency services performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers, they were unable to save his life.
This incident underscores the importance of adhering to beach usage regulations, especially regarding lifeguard surveillance hours. Beaches often restrict swimming activities outside of these hours to ensure the safety of bathers.

In a separate case, another 83-year-old man drowned at a beach in Roses, Girona. Reports indicate that this incident raised the number of fatalities on Catalan beaches to 18 since the start of the bathing campaign on June 15.
Authorities continue to urge bathers to respect guidelines and safety measures along the coasts, especially during periods of higher visitor numbers.
