4.8 Magnitude Earthquake Registered in Lurín, Lima, According to IGP
A 4.8 magnitude earthquake occurred on Wednesday, August 19, at 5:28 a.m. off the coast of Lima, reported the IGP.

On Wednesday morning, August 19, at 5:28 a.m., a 4.8 magnitude earthquake was recorded 42 kilometers southwest of Lurín in the Lima region, according to the Geophysical Institute of Peru (IGP).
The seismic event prompted response agencies to mobilize and underscored the importance of having emergency preparedness and response plans in place for the population, as reported by Infobae.
The Peruvian Navy ruled out the possibility of a tsunami following the seismic movement, as indicated by various sources, including El Comercio.

In light of this earthquake, authorities have stressed the need to be prepared for future eventualities and to maintain calm among the population.
