Bart Lemmen secures first professional win and takes the lead in the Tour of Poland

Bart Lemmen secured his first professional win on Thursday in the fourth stage of the Tour of Poland. The 30-year-old rider from Visma-Lease a Bike crossed the finish line alone, claiming the lead in the overall standings as well.

The fourth stage was originally 176 kilometers long but was neutralized and shortened by fifteen kilometers following a serious crash. A heavy rainstorm caused a large part of the peloton to fall during a descent, leading to the race being interrupted.

João Almeida from UAE was involved in the crash and saw his chances for a good overall position go up in smoke. The aftermath of the crash has affected several riders in the peloton.
