Children in Vught discover hand grenade on sports club grounds
Children at an after-school care facility in Vught found a World War II hand grenade while playing at sports club Prins Hendrik.

This afternoon, children from an after-school care facility in Vught discovered a hand grenade on the grounds of sports club Prins Hendrik. The explosive dates back to World War II and was found while the children were playing outside.
The children raised the alarm with their supervisor upon noticing an object that resembled a bomb. The police were then immediately contacted to assess the situation.

The grassy area next to the after-school care facility was closed off to parents and children until the explosive was cleared. Meanwhile, the children were able to remain at the facility.
The Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service has been called in to safely remove the hand grenade. No injuries have been reported, and the situation is under control.
