Johnny Depp is in negotiations to return as Captain Jack Sparrow in the upcoming film 'Pirates of the Caribbean 6'. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer confirmed this during D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. He stated that the team is working on a new script and that they are in talks with Depp.

The discussions come a few years after Depp was removed from the film franchise. According to Bruckheimer, the intention is to bring Depp back on board for the new project. The producer envisions bringing Depp's iconic character to life once more.

In recent years, the chances of Depp's return appeared minimal, particularly since he had indicated that he did not wish to reprise the role of Jack Sparrow, even for a substantial amount. However, a renewed opportunity for collaboration has recently emerged.

Sources report that Depp has reconsidered his stance on the role and is open to negotiations. Bruckheimer indicated that the talks are progressing, although there are no confirmed details about the agreement yet.

Depp's involvement with the franchise has been complex, marked by legal disputes and public controversies that affected his reputation. Nevertheless, it seems that the interest from Disney and Bruckheimer in his return persists, as they are determined to continue the franchise.

The current discussions surrounding 'Pirates of the Caribbean 6' are further evidence of the franchise's popularity and the role that Depp played within it. It is still unclear when the film will actually go into production, but the talks are being viewed as a positive development.
