Lagos Government Bans Permanent Use of Dealer Number Plates
The Lagos State Government has forbidden the permanent use of dealer number plates and has impounded vehicles violating this directive.

The Lagos State Government has announced a ban on the permanent use of dealer number plates by motorists. Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, emphasized that such plates should only be used under the conditions stipulated by law.
In a recent crackdown, the Vehicle Inspection Service (VIS) impounded 175 vehicles for using dealer number plates improperly. This action was part of the government's effort to enforce traffic regulations.

Osiyemi highlighted that the dealer number plates found on the seized vehicles would be confiscated. He noted that the impounded vehicles will undergo further investigation to assess compliance with the law.
The government reiterated its commitment to tackling unauthorized use of dealer number plates and warned both motorists and vehicle dealers against non-compliance.
