Lima faces flooding after heavy rains
Authorities announce measures following rainfall in southern Lima, and a state of emergency is declared in affected districts.

Heavy rains in southern Lima have caused flooding and waterlogging in several districts of the Peruvian capital. The situation has led the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE) to implement a two-hour grace period for workers commuting in affected areas, such as Villa María del Triunfo and Villa El Salvador, on Tuesday, August 18.
The President of the Republic, Keiko Fujimori, has announced that a state of emergency will be declared in the districts and regions impacted by the rainfall. This decision aims to facilitate the response to the crisis generated by the rains.

According to reports, public and private employers will need to adjust employees' starting hours to avoid penalties related to delays caused by transportation issues stemming from the flooding.
The DANA Aníbal has been identified as the main cause of these climatic phenomena that have disrupted normal mobility for the population in southern Lima, significantly affecting daily life.
