Police still searching for identity of unknown man after stroke in Amsterdam
A man with aphasia, known as 'Lucky', remains unidentified by police three years after a stroke.

On May 10, 2023, a man known as 'Lucky' collapsed on the street in Amsterdam. He was taken to OLVG hospital, where it was determined that he had suffered a stroke or brain hemorrhage. This medical emergency has resulted in him developing aphasia, severely limiting his ability to communicate.
Since the incident, the Amsterdam police have been engaged in a long-term search for his identity. However, three years after the event, they have still been unsuccessful in uncovering who this man is.
According to available information, Lucky can only say a few English words since the stroke, such as 'nonsense' and 'definitely'. This makes it challenging for the police to communicate with him or obtain any further information about his identity.

Over the past years, the police have investigated various leads, but these have not yielded results so far. Currently, he resides in a care facility in Amsterdam-Zuidoost, and every new clue is important in the search for answers.
Recently, the police issued a new appeal to the public in the hopes of obtaining more information about Lucky. Within less than a day of this appeal, 140 tips have already come in, but his identification remains unresolved.
Lucky's situation raises questions about the support and care for individuals who lose their identity due to medical conditions, while the search for his identity continues.
