Sindh Government Defers Judicial Commission for Mir Raza Ali Murder Case

The Sindh government has decided to defer its decision on establishing a judicial commission to investigate the murder case of Mir Raza Ali, a 25-year-old businessman whose body was discovered in Karachi last month. Home Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar made the announcement on X, stating that the provincial government is responding to the wishes of Ali's family.

Mir Raza Ali went missing on July 28, and his body was found in Gulistan-i-Jauhar a day later. Initially, the police considered suicide as a possibility; however, subsequent medical findings prompted a reevaluation of the case. Following the details revealed in a second postmortem, murder charges were added to the FIR under Section 302, as reported by The Express Tribune.

According to Home Minister Lanjar, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab engaged with the family, who expressed confidence in a newly formed police team assigned to carry out the investigation. As a result, the family believed that this police team should handle the probe rather than a judicial commission.

The decision to create a judicial commission was initially aimed at addressing the family's concerns regarding the investigation. While the family had previously indicated a preference for this approach, their support for the police team influenced the government's current stance.
