The Supreme Court of India has issued a notice to the central government concerning its efforts in limiting online child sexual abuse content. The court has set a deadline for the ministries to submit their counter affidavits by September 24, requiring that these documents be served to the applicants two weeks prior to this date.

In a related development, the government reportedly held a direct discussion with Meta regarding the circulation of child sexual abuse material. Officials emphasized that the distribution of such content represents a clear violation of existing regulations.

According to government sources, Meta has claimed that it has taken action regarding the issue of child sexual content on its platforms, including Instagram, which had faced scrutiny in relation to paid content associated with this matter.
