Tax site piracy: DGFiP informs affected taxpayers
The DGFiP has started notifying taxpayers impacted by the breach, which involved stolen credentials.

The Directorate General of Public Finances (DGFiP) has announced it will individually inform taxpayers affected by the breach of its website. According to an email sent by the DGFiP, the attack was carried out using stolen credentials. These credentials belonged to a DGFiP agent and were associated with those of a third party authorized by the administration.
Since Monday, victims have been receiving notifications via email or by post. In these messages, the DGFiP specifies which data may have been accessed or extracted during the attack, as well as the precautions they should take.
Taxpayers are expressing concerns about the security of their personal information. The DGFiP stated that it is in contact with the victims and is providing explanations regarding the steps to follow after the breach.
This breach raises questions about data protection within public administrations, and the tax authority is working to reassure taxpayers by answering their inquiries. Calls related to this incident continue to pour in to the tax administration.
