On Saturday afternoon, an incident occurred in Oud-Beijerland where a 15-year-old boy intervened during a life-threatening situation. The young man was riding as a passenger in a van when the 22-year-old driver became unwell. At that moment, the boy took over the steering wheel to prevent the vehicle from crashing.

The boy steered the van into the shoulder, where it collided with a parked trailer. According to the emergency services present and a police spokesperson, the boy's spontaneous action ensured that 'worse was prevented.'

The incident took place on an industrial estate in the South Holland village around 12:15 PM. The police were alerted and quickly arrived on the scene to assess the situation and provide assistance to those involved.
