Jessica Schilder wins third European title in shot put, silver for Van Klinken

Jessica Schilder has won the European title in shot put for the third consecutive time at the European Championships in Birmingham. With a distance of 20.73 meters, she emerged as the best competitor despite a finger injury.

Jorinde van Klinken secured the silver medal with a throw of 19.64 meters. Both athletes repeated their performance from the European Championships in Rome in 2024, where they also won gold and silver.

Alida van Daalen also participated in the final but did not finish on the podium. The performances of the Dutch women underscore their dominance in this discipline.
