2026 Elections: Candidates' Proposals in Mato Grosso and Alagoas
Candidates for governor in MT and AL have submitted their government plans, outlining guidelines for the coming years.

Natasha Slhessarenko, the PSD candidate for governor of Mato Grosso, presented her government plan for 2027 to 2030, titled "Mato Grosso Different Caring for People." The document covers guidelines in education, health, public security, women's protection, infrastructure, economic development, the environment, and fiscal management, and was submitted to the Electoral Court. The information was reported by g1.
Otaviano Pivetta of the Republicanos also sent his government plan for Mato Grosso, titled "The Path for Mato Grosso to Continue Thriving: Efficient Management at the Service of the People." He suggests continuing the management model adopted since 2019, in collaboration with former governor Mauro Mendes. This plan was also submitted to the Electoral Court, according to g1.
Wellington Fagundes, the PL candidate, did the same with his plan, titled "The Force that Moves Brazil and Cares for Our People." The program includes guidelines in health, public security, infrastructure, women's protection, fiscal management, and the environment. Although it has a municipal focus, the methods for implementing these guidelines were not detailed, as reported by g1.

In Alagoas, candidate Renan Filho (MDB) presented his government plan, which includes the creation of 24-hour police stations aimed at women, the elderly, and people with disabilities, the use of artificial intelligence in education, as well as the expansion of the hospital network and the duplication of highways. Titled "For Alagoas to Advance with Opportunities and Prosperity for All," the document contains 53 proposals and was outlined during a broadcast by TV Sergipe.
A recent poll released by Quaest shows that Renan Filho has 42% of the voting intentions in Alagoas, while João Henrique Caldas (PSDB) would have 40%. The margin of error for the poll is three percentage points, according to UOL. This poll helps to frame the electoral scenario for the state, where Renan Filho is seeking reelection.
