A Chicago jury has decided to award $29 million to the family of Michael "Mick" Ryan, an engineer for the United Nations World Food Programme, who died in the Ethiopian Airlines flight ET302 crash in 2019.

The flight crashed shortly after takeoff, resulting in the deaths of all 157 people on board, including eight Italian citizens.

Ryan's widow initially rejected a settlement proposal from Boeing, opting instead for a jury trial.

According to sources, two other civil lawsuits related to the 2019 incident remain pending, indicating that the legal issues with Boeing are not yet fully resolved.
