The location of the epicenter, far from major urban centers, may have contributed to the absence of damage. The tremor was felt in various regions of the country, but there was no widespread panic.

The USGS and other sources continued to monitor the situation, but no additional information about possible aftershocks or more significant impacts has been released so far.

This natural event highlights the seismic activity in the Andean region, known for its propensity for earthquakes. Although incidents like this can be alarming, initial communications indicate that the population is safe.
