7 Tourists Evacuated from Nepal Amid Flood Crisis; Malaysia Sends Aid
Following severe floods in Nepal, seven Odisha tourists have been evacuated, while Malaysia dispatches a disaster response team.

Several tourists, including seven from Odisha, were evacuated as the Trishuli River in Nepal swelled due to heavy rainfall, leading to deteriorating conditions. Local authorities and Nepal police coordinated the evacuation efforts from a temple site, as search operations are underway for five individuals still unaccounted for, according to official reports from the Hindustan Times.
In a related development, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced on August 30 that the country will send a Special Malaysian Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (SMART) to assist in the search and rescue efforts in Nepal. The Prime Minister noted that local officials are working closely with the Nepali government to deploy the team swiftly.
Furthermore, the Malaysian government is committed to aiding the situation with a funding commitment of US$1 million and aims to locate and facilitate the return of Malaysian citizens affected by the disaster, as reported by Malay Mail.
