74-year-old motorist dies after crash with streetlight pole in Dendermonde

On Saturday afternoon, a fatal traffic accident occurred on the N41 in Dendermonde, where a 74-year-old man crashed his vehicle into a streetlight pole. The incident happened while he was driving towards Lebbeke. According to the East Flanders prosecutor's office, the manner of the accident indicates that the man ended up further off the road in the ditch following the collision.

Immediately after the collision, resuscitation attempts were undertaken, but unfortunately, these were unsuccessful. The victim died at the scene due to the consequences of the accident, as confirmed by local authorities.
