Fernando Cappi, expert kite surfer, dies in accident at Setúbal lagoon

Fernando Cappi, an experienced 32-year-old kite surfer, died in a tragic accident at Setúbal lagoon. According to reports, Cappi was last seen during a kitesurfing session on a day when around fifty people were engaged in the same activity, including windsurfing.

His girlfriend recorded Cappi's final moments with her cellphone before he disappeared in the water. Despite being experienced and considered one of the most skilled in the sport, his colleagues mentioned that on the day of the accident, the lagoon was 'completely navigable.'

The body of Fernando Cappi was found the following day after an extensive search operation that lasted 20 hours.
