Typhoon Dolphin has triggered a maximum alert in China, with heavy rains and extreme winds expected in the coming hours. According to reports, nearly 1,400 flights have been canceled at the two main airports in Shanghai due to the impending arrival of the typhoon.
The weather phenomenon has already affected Taiwan and is continuing its path toward the Chinese coast, with landfall expected between tonight and the early hours of tomorrow, likely in Zhejiang or the nearby province of Fujian.
Local authorities have set in motion evacuations in high-risk areas, preparing for what are expected to be "extraordinary" and severely adverse weather conditions.
