Tropical Storm Edouard made landfall on Tuesday along the Louisiana coast, with maximum sustained winds of up to 95 kilometers per hour, according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC). Although the system is expected to weaken as it moves inland, torrential rains and coastal flooding are anticipated in the southeast Texas region.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has issued a warning about potential flood risks in several counties across the state, urging communities to take precautions in response to the impending heavy rains and winds.

In addition to weather warnings, several school districts in Houston have decided to cancel classes and adjust schedules in response to the threat posed by Edouard. Educational authorities are assessing the situation to ensure the safety of students.

Texas authorities have deployed a total of 1,100 personnel to assist affected coastal communities, anticipating complications that may arise due to the storm.

The NHC has indicated that Edouard could reach hurricane-force winds along its path, raising concerns in southeast Texas, particularly in coastal areas.

Residents of Texas are advised to follow local authorities' recommendations and be prepared for possible disruptions due to flooding and other storm-related risks.
