Anthropic's Claude chatbot introduces digital watermark, users dissatisfied
Anthropic launches a digital watermark for text generated by its Claude chatbot, but some users are unhappy and considering leaving.

Anthropic has become the first and currently only major AI company to implement an invisible digital watermark on texts generated by its Claude chatbot. This decision follows a requirement that has been in effect in Europe since August 2.
The watermark allows for quicker identification of texts written by the chatbot, which can help users avoid unwanted misunderstandings when using AI-generated content. Users who copy and paste this text without the watermark could consequently 'get caught out'.
However, some users have expressed their dissatisfaction with this measure. They threaten to cancel their subscriptions due to the new restrictions imposed by the watermark.
