The State Digital Transformation Agency (ARTE) has issued a warning about fraudulent SMS messages circulating under the false name of the Digital Mobile Key (CMD). According to multiple sources, these messages mimic legitimate communications from the digital authentication platform.

The fraudulent texts aim to trick citizens into clicking links or providing sensitive information. According to SAPO 24, the scammers are attempting to obtain personal data, access codes and banking information through these deceptive messages.

ARTE stated in a press release that national cybersecurity authorities are monitoring the situation surrounding these fraudulent SMS messages. The alert was issued by the agency, which is responsible for digital administration in Portugal.
