Athletic de Terzic suffers first defeat in friendly
Under Edin Terzic, Athletic lost 3-1 to Olympique de Marseille in their first European friendly of the season.

Athletic Club de Bilbao, under the direction of Edin Terzic, faced Olympique de Marseille today in their first friendly match in preparation for the European season. This match follows a week of training after the team finished a previous encounter against Burgos, where Terzic granted his players five days off before returning to work with physical tests.
The match ended with a 3-1 defeat for Athletic. After the game, Terzic assessed the performance, highlighting that it was a challenging yet crucial experience for the team’s development. He noted that his team did not start well and struggled in midfield, leading to the loss of numerous balls that resulted in the opponent's goals.
Despite the defeat, Terzic downplayed the result, acknowledging the superiority of Olympique de Marseille throughout the match. However, he also emphasized that his team is in a process of improvement and progression.

This defeat marks the first for Terzic in his career as Athletic's coach. Previously, the lions had played other friendlies without suffering adverse results.
The German coach, without a translator on this occasion, expressed his thoughts in English, marking a change from previous summer matches. Attention will now focus on how the team adjusts their tactics after this initial difficult test as they prepare for the next friendly.
