Athletics Europeans: Italy Competes with 130 Athletes in Birmingham
The Italian delegation, the largest ever seen, has departed for Birmingham in search of medals.
The first group of the Italian delegation for the Athletics Europeans departed from Fiumicino Airport. With 130 athletes, Italy presents the largest team at the competition in Birmingham, which starts tomorrow.
In Birmingham, Italy returns to compete after the success of the European Championships in Rome, where it won 24 medals, including 11 gold. The competition will already see 31 Italian athletes in action for decisive events such as the shot put with Fabbri and the 100 meters with Dosso.
The Italian expedition, dubbed a 'Dream Team', is ready to aim for new successes, while simultaneously, the U20 World Championships are taking place in Eugene, where Italy has already achieved significant results.
