Average salary in Portugal rises by 5.1% to 1,835 euros

According to data released by the National Institute of Statistics (INE), the average salary of workers in Portugal increased by 5.1% in the second quarter of 2023, reaching 1,835 euros gross. This growth was lower than the 5.4% increase recorded at the beginning of the year, reflecting a slowdown of 0.3 percentage points compared to the first quarter.

The data indicates that while the average salary has increased, the rate of growth has slowed down, reflecting possible changes in economic conditions. The INE released this information last Friday, highlighting the variations in income throughout the year.
