In the past three months, Bambino Gesù Hospital has recorded six hospitalizations for severe esophageal injuries caused by the ingestion of button batteries, according to ANSA.
Experts warn that ingesting these objects may not show immediate symptoms and recommend going promptly to the emergency room even in case of suspicion.
