Bayern Munich coach Kompany collapses at training ground, hospitalised
Vincent Kompany collapsed on Friday afternoon at Bayern Munich's training facility and was taken to a Munich hospital by ambulance.

The 40-year-old Bayern Munich coach fell ill on Friday afternoon after training at the club's facility on Säbener Strasse and collapsed. Multiple German media outlets, including BILD and Sky Sport Deutschland, reported the incident, which Bayern Munich subsequently confirmed officially. Kompany was transported by ambulance to a hospital in Munich. According to some sources, a rescue helicopter was also called to the training ground.
German media reported that Kompany's condition is stable. Bayern Munich stated that he will undergo thorough examination at the hospital and remain under medical care. Sporting director Max Eberl of Bayern emphasised their commitment: "Vinnie receives all necessary medical care and support, and all the time he needs."
Kompany had returned to the sidelines with Bayern Munich this week after suffering from a viral infection earlier. His technical staff will lead training sessions in the interim, the club said.
