Bihar Police Defends Use of AK-47 During NEET Protest
The Bihar government stated that the use of an AK-47 during a protest was justified, claiming no injuries occurred.

The Bihar Police informed the Supreme Court that an AK-47 was fired during a protest related to the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). They acknowledged the weapon's classification as a "platoon-level weapon used in special operations," but emphasized that they acted with "utmost restraint" against the crowd.
The state government confirmed that the police officer responsible for firing the weapon has been suspended for "undesirable conduct." They also stated that no injuries resulted from the incident, countering any claims of excessive force used during the protest.
