Botic van de Zandschulp reached the second round of the US Open on Wednesday. He won his match against Jan Choinski from Great Britain with 6-3, 6-1, and 7-6 (5). This victory marks a turning point for Dutch players, who had previously lost three matches earlier in the tournament.

Currently ranked 70th in the world, Van de Zandschulp did not advance beyond the first round last year. However, this year he is showing that he is back in form and can compete with international rivals.

Later the same day, Jesper de Jong also secured a spot in the second round. He began his match against Italy's Francesco Passaro on Tuesday, but the match was interrupted due to rain. He resumed the match and managed to win the fourth and fifth sets 6-3 and 6-2, after losing the second and third sets.

De Jong is currently ranked 100th in the world, and his victory marks a positive turn for him in the tournament after a challenging start.

In addition to Van de Zandschulp and De Jong, this edition of the US Open is also memorable for other Dutch players, who, however, did not progress beyond the first round. These performances offer hope for future tournaments.

The achievements of Van de Zandschulp and De Jong are a boost for Dutch tennis. Their victories are a testament to the growth and development of Dutch players at the highest level. The second round is now a reality, and it remains to be seen how far they will go in the tournament.
