Bumble announced on Tuesday via social media that the feature requiring women to send the first message has been removed. This rule had been a notable element since the dating app's launch in 2014.

With this change, men can now initiate conversations as well. Users will now have 72 hours to respond to an initial message, instead of the previous 24 hours, before the chat expires.

The change marks a significant shift in Bumble's functionality, a platform known for its unique approach in the dating world.
