Calenda: "We will vote alone, I would prefer Gentiloni as premier"
The leader of Azione expresses concern over possible governments led by Schlein or Conte.

Carlo Calenda, leader of the Azione party, stated that his party will present itself independently in the elections, anticipating a possible tie at the polls. In an interview with La Repubblica, he expressed that a government led by Elly Schlein or Giuseppe Conte would be as risky as a repeat of Giorgia Meloni.
Calenda also emphasized the importance of forming a pro-European government in Parliament. According to him, the only viable path will be to find a political agreement that keeps them within the European camp, expressing a preference for Paolo Gentiloni as a potential prime minister.
