Carlos Alcaraz has reached the final of the Tokyo ATP 500 after defeating his compatriot Jaume Munar in an exciting match. Although he started by losing the first set 5-7, Alcaraz showed his determination by coming back in the next two sets, winning 6-3 and 6-1. This victory marks his fourth final of the year.

Munar had posed challenges in the early games, gaining the initial advantage thanks to his effective strategy and varied shots. However, Alcaraz, ranked second in the world, adapted and managed to turn the situation around after a tough start, using powerful forehands to take control of the match.

Previously, Alcaraz had advanced to the semifinals after Denis Shapovalov withdrew from their match due to a hip injury. Nonetheless, the Murcian had come from a tough battle in the quarterfinals, winning a close tie-break in the first set before his opponent was forced to retire.

Munar, on his part, reached the semifinals after eliminating French player Kyrian Jacquet with a score of 6-4 and 6-2, demonstrating his good level and readiness for the challenge against Alcaraz.

With this victory, Alcaraz aims to defend the title he won last year at this same tournament. The final of the Tokyo ATP 500 is set to pit him against a rival who has proven to be competitive throughout the tournament.

Alcaraz's performance in Tokyo reinforces his position as one of the best tennis players on the circuit, while Munar's display against a high-level opponent highlights the potential of Spanish players in the elite of tennis.
