Carneiro says PS will be a "bulwark" for Mozambicans in Portugal
The PS secretary-general in Maputo highlighted the party's support for Mozambicans seeking opportunities in Portugal.

The secretary-general of the Socialist Party (PS), Carlos Carneiro, stated today in Maputo that the party is committed to being "a bulwark" for Mozambicans seeking work and training opportunities in Portugal. This declaration was made during a meeting with the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Mozambique.
Carneiro acknowledged the existence of "obstacles" that still need to be overcome regarding mobility within the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP). He emphasized the importance of removing these barriers to facilitate integration and opportunities for citizens of Lusophone countries.
During the meeting, he emphasized that the new immigration laws in Portugal will have a significant impact on Mozambicans and other citizens from the Lusophone community. The secretary-general highlighted the need for the PS to be attentive to these issues to ensure that the interests of Mozambicans are defended.

Carneiro reiterated that the PS is committed to promoting policies that favor mobility and opportunities for Mozambicans, aligning with the party's commitment to remain a fundamental support for this community seeking to improve their situation in Portugal.
The meeting between Carneiro and the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Mozambique was an opportunity to discuss relevant issues affecting the Mozambican community in Portugal, including existing legislation that might influence their migration and adaptation in the country.
Carneiro's statements were well received, reflecting an alignment of the PS's objectives with the challenges faced by Mozambicans in their pursuit of better living conditions in Portugal.
