Ceuta: Residents protest against migrant detention centers
The construction of two new reception centers in Ceuta has sparked protests among local residents, who are demanding the project be suspended.

Residents of Ceuta have expressed their opposition to the construction of two new migrant reception centers. One of these centers is located near a daycare center, while the other is situated at the Western Dock. This development has caused significant discontent among residents, who have voiced their concerns about safety and the social impact these centers may have on the community.
Protests have begun to intensify, with residents threatening to continue their actions until the government decides to reverse its decision to implement the centers. The uproar stems from fears that the establishment of these centers will lead to an increase in social issues in the region, in addition to affecting the already existing infrastructure in the area.

The demonstrations have attracted media attention, reflecting the growing dissatisfaction of the local population. An undetermined number of people participated in the protests, highlighting the community's unity in opposing these projects.
Meanwhile, there has yet to be an official statement from the government regarding the concerns raised by residents or the continuation of plans related to the reception centers. The situation continues to evolve, with residents determined to escalate their actions if their demands are not met.
