China has formally requested to participate in consultations at the World Trade Organization (WTO) regarding tariffs of up to 37.5% that the Trump administration imposed on Brazil. This request was reported by the newspaper Folha de S.Paulo on October 8, 2026.

In addition to U.S. tariffs, Brazil faces significant tariff barriers from other trade partners, such as China, which will impose a 55% tariff on Brazilian meat. This information was disclosed by Globo.

Brazil's foreign trade experienced a historic semester, with beef sales reaching nearly $10 billion, marking a 33% increase compared to the same period the previous year. However, forecasts for the second semester indicate a less favorable outlook for exports.
