Xi Jinping will arrive in Kyrgyzstan on August 30, leading up to the SCO Summit on September 1.

President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China will arrive in Kyrgyzstan on August 30 for a state visit. This visit is at the invitation of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov.
Following Xi's arrival, Bishkek will host a summit marking 25 years of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) on September 1. The event will be chaired by President Japarov and will consist of a regular meeting of the Council of Heads of State and a high-level meeting in the SCO Plus format, as reported by the presidential press service.
The summit will see the participation of several heads of state, including Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, alongside leaders from other participating nations such as India and Pakistan. The gathering aims to reinforce regional cooperation among member states of the SCO.

The SCO is a regional bloc that includes major countries from Central Asia, as well as Russia, China, India, Pakistan, Iran, and others. It has been noted for its intent to balance Western influences in the region. Around a dozen heads of state are expected to attend the event.
As the summit approaches, leaders from various nations are preparing to discuss critical issues affecting the region, including economic collaboration and security concerns. The significance of this summit lies in the convergence of power dynamics among member countries as they address shared challenges.
Only a few days before the summit, Xi Jinping's state visit will set the stage for discussions likely to influence the agenda of the SCO meeting. The bilateral relations between China and Kyrgyzstan may also be at the forefront of these talks, focusing on furthering economic ties and regional stability.
