The Avanza País candidate, Francis Allison, has proposed the implementation of a runoff in the municipal elections of Lima. Allison argues that the capital of the country fulfills regional government functions and that the norm requiring at least 30% of valid votes to avoid a new election should be applied.

These events mark a significant development in the electoral context of Peru, with society closely watching the actions and announcements from the JNE and the reactions of the candidates to the results from the ONPE.
