Colombian President Abelardo de la Espriella has convened an emergency committee to address the damage caused by a magnitude 7.4 earthquake that shook various regions of the country. According to reports, the cities of Cali, Pereira, Manizales, and Quibdó have suffered significant damage.

De la Espriella, who took office just three days ago, announced that he will travel to Pereira, one of the hardest-hit areas, to support those affected. In a message posted on X, the president emphasized the importance of immediate and coordinated assistance in the impacted regions.
