Venezuelan authorities have reported an increase in the death toll from the earthquakes that occurred on June 24, reaching a total of 6,301 victims. This rise reflects the severe impact of the seismic events on the population.

Additionally, it has been reported that more than 53,000 homes have been assessed for damage, highlighting the magnitude of the destruction caused by the tremors.

In response to this situation, the College of Engineers has called for an update of the seismic-resistant standards for buildings and urban planning in Venezuela, aiming to improve the country's response capacity to future earthquakes.
