Disney+ Acquires Rights to Gary Neville’s The Overlap Podcast
The streaming platform Disney+ has secured rights to The Overlap podcast to compete with Lineker's Netflix offering.
Disney+ has entered a multimillion-pound agreement to acquire the rights for Gary Neville's podcast, The Overlap. This deal enables the streaming service to broaden its content lineup in a competitive landscape that includes Gary Lineker's Netflix-backed show, Rest is Football.
As part of this agreement, Disney+ will also feature a new show co-hosted by Wayne Rooney and Mark Goldbridge, focusing on Manchester United. This addition aims to enhance Disney+'s appeal among football fans.
The deal, which encompasses title sponsorship, will allow Disney+ to broadcast 40 episodes of The Overlap, further intensifying the competition between the two major streaming platforms.
