Dispute over Fernando Farías' extradition between Mexico and Argentina
The defense of former admiral Fernando Farías claims there is no imminent extradition process to Mexico, while Mexican authorities anticipate it.

Fernando Farías, former Argentine admiral, is currently under the jurisdiction of Argentine authorities, according to his lawyer. This claim follows a statement by Mexico City Mayor Claudia Sheinbaum, indicating that his transfer to Mexico could soon materialize.
Sheinbaum called on the Attorney General's Office (FGR) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) to review the extradition process for the former officer, whose defense maintains that there is no legal evidence of an imminent transfer.

Farías' legal team has confirmed that the extradition hearing is scheduled for August 27. They will subsequently respond to Sheinbaum's statements, emphasizing that there is currently no formal order for his delivery.
Despite the contradictory claims, the situation regarding Fernando Farías' case and his potential extradition remains unresolved between Mexico and Argentina.
