Novak Djokovic has won the ATP tournament in Beijing by defeating Alex de Minaur. The Serbian, seeded sixth, took the first set 7-6 (3) after a tiebreak. In the second set, De Minaur retired after winning his first service game due to a groin injury. This marks Djokovic's seventh victory in Beijing and his 102nd ATP title, with his last win dating back to last year.

Carlos Alcaraz has secured his first ATP title in eight months in Tokyo. The Spaniard, seeded third, defeated Jiří Lehecka in the final with a score of 7-6 (4) and 6-4. This victory is significant as it is his first tournament win since recovering from injury, including a wrist injury earlier this season.

Jannik Sinner has confirmed the end of his season due to a persistent knee injury. This means that Sinner, who had been poised to advance earlier this year, will be unable to compete for the rest of the season. Details regarding his injury have not been specified further.

Djokovic's victory in Beijing comes after a relatively quiet season in which he only participated in the US Open and Cincinnati following his loss to Jannik Sinner at Wimbledon. Though he played a few more matches this season, this was Djokovic's first tournament win of 2023.

Alcaraz, who has dealt with injuries this year, hopes that his victory in Tokyo marks his return to the highest level after a prolonged absence earlier this year. This win is important for his ranking and confidence following the challenging months.

The performances of both Djokovic and Alcaraz allow both players to re-establish themselves after years of struggle, often hampered by injuries. Their recent successes could put them in a better position for the upcoming tournaments.
