In a phone interview with Fox News, Donald Trump stated he was 'prepared to accept' the results of the recent midterm elections, but quickly added that he did not take responsibility for this defeat. He criticized the media coverage and the stance of the conservative network, claiming it contributed to the perception of his party.

Trump also mentioned that the war in Iran was 'partly' responsible for the unfavorable results for Republicans. His statement seems to reflect an attempt to seek external causes for his loss rather than accepting the consequences of his leadership.

Meanwhile, the election results were marked by a significant shift in Congress, with a Democratic wave taking control of both chambers. Traditionally strong Republicans suffered losses in strongholds, amplifying criticism of Trump's leadership.

Experts like Frédérique Sandretto and Jérôme Viala-Gaudefroy, invited to a BFM Business show, commented on these results, highlighting the elections' impact on Trump and the Republican Party's future. Their analysis illuminated the growing distance between the president and certain segments of the electorate.

Faced with a Democratic majority in Congress, Trump finds himself in a more vulnerable position, facing significant challenges to achieve his political goals. Elected Democrats, seemingly well entrenched, question Trump's ability to govern effectively in this new context.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also reacted to the results, expressing hope for renewed U.S. support, as the political dynamics in the United States could potentially affect American positions on international issues like the war in Ukraine.
