DRC and M23 agree on roadmap for peace negotiations
The government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the M23 movement have reached a roadmap agreement for peace talks in Switzerland.

The Doha process, involving the government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and the Alliance Fleuve Congo/March 23 Movement (AFC/M23), has taken a significant step with the conclusion of a new roadmap for peace negotiations. This agreement was established following discussions held in Bern, Switzerland.
According to a joint statement, this roadmap outlines clear stages and timelines for the talks, aiming to end the clashes that have led to numerous casualties and massive population displacements in the region.
The DRC and the M23, a rebel group supported by Rwanda, also expressed their gratitude to Qatar and other partners for their support of peace and stability in eastern DRC and the Great Lakes region.

This development has been widely covered by various media outlets, including AFP, which reported the details of this agreement. Congolese authorities and representatives of the M23 have demonstrated their commitment to pursuing constructive negotiations towards a lasting solution.
The negotiation timeline established in the roadmap aims to ensure that discussions progress in an organized and effective manner, marking a new phase in the peace process under international mediation.
The agreement reached in Switzerland is seen as a crucial opportunity to improve the security situation in the region, although significant challenges remain.
