Drone Attacks on Moscow on Last Day of Elections in Russia
On the final day of Russia's parliamentary elections, Ukraine launched numerous drone attacks on Moscow, resulting in casualties and damage.

On Sunday, the last day of the Russian parliamentary elections, Moscow was hit by massive drone attacks carried out by the Ukrainian forces. According to Moscow's mayor, Sergei Sobyanin, around 180 drones were intercepted, while the state news agency TASS reported that at least two people were killed as a result of the attacks.
The attacks coincided with the parliamentary elections, dominated by the United Russia party under President Vladimir Putin. Sobyanin accused Ukraine of trying to disrupt the voting. Reports indicated that a facility at an oil refinery site, which had previously been targeted by Ukrainian strikes, was also damaged.
Residential buildings in the region were another target of the attacks. A Berlin news portal reported that a drone struck a high-rise building, leading to the evacuation of residents. During the attacks, there were reports of fires and other damage in the Russian capital and its surroundings.

Ukrainian drone activity was described by authorities as "unprecedented." Reports indicated that more than 1,600 drones were heading towards Moscow, highlighting the intensity of the air offensives that have increased in recent months.
Reactions to the attacks were also significant. While some reports mentioned casualties in Moscow, there were also details about the impact on the elections, where a victory for the ruling party is considered certain. Russia has won all parliamentary elections with such outcomes in recent years.
Initial results of the State Duma election will be published on Sunday evening at 8:00 PM CEST. Experts and observers are monitoring the situation in connection with the attacks and their potential influence on the political landscape in Russia.
