EAM Jaishankar Begins Visit to Poland and Ukraine
Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar embarks on a significant trip to Poland and Ukraine amid rising tensions.

S. Jaishankar, India’s External Affairs Minister, has commenced a three-day visit to Poland and Ukraine from September 3 to September 5. His trip follows recent escalations of hostilities between Kyiv and Moscow, marking a notable moment in India's diplomatic engagements in the region.
Jaishankar is the first senior Indian leader to travel to Ukraine since Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the country in August 2024. Reports indicate that this visit is part of India's broader strategy for increasing diplomatic outreach.
The visit comes in the wake of Modi’s discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin, signaling India's intent to actively participate in the ongoing geopolitical dialogue surrounding the conflict. Jaishankar's next destination after Poland is Ukraine.
