On August 13, a magnitude 4.8 earthquake was recorded in San José del Palmar, located in Chocó, Colombia. The seismic activity in this region is notable, as the country is situated in an area prone to earthquakes.

One day later, on August 14, another earthquake was reported in the same location with a magnitude of 6.1. This level of intensity further highlights Colombia's vulnerability to significant seismic events, as it lies in the Pacific Ring of Fire.

Meanwhile, in Peru, a magnitude 4 earthquake was observed in Pausa at 12:29 local time on August 14. This tremor continues to demonstrate the seismic activity in the Andean region.

The National Seismological Center (CENSIS) was also involved in monitoring this earthquake in Peru, underscoring the importance of tracking seismic activity in vulnerable areas.

Throughout history, Colombia and Peru have faced various earthquakes that have caused thousands of deaths and significant material damage. Preparedness for these events is crucial in both nations.
