Six provinces in the Democratic Republic of the Congo are now affected by Ebola, as confirmed by the country's health authorities. Recently, confirmed cases have also been reported in the city of Buta in Bas Uélé Province.

The infections in Buta are linked to transmissions from the neighboring province of Haut Uélé. Jean Kaseya, the director of the Africa CDC, informed in a weekly situation report about the situation and developments of cases in these regions.
