The Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has recorded over 6,000 confirmed cases and nearly 3,000 deaths, according to information released by various sources, including health authorities' data.

The DRC declared its 17th Ebola outbreak in mid-May, and within just three months, this outbreak has become the deadliest the country has ever faced. The escalating severity of the situation is evidenced by the rapid increase in the number of cases and deaths.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the outbreak is out of control and may surpass the Ebola epidemic that occurred between 2014 and 2016, which was the deadliest to date, resulting in over 11,000 deaths.

The WHO also highlighted that, at this time, there is no approved vaccine for this specific type of the virus, further complicating the response to this outbreak.

Recently, authorities in Angola reported that the spread of the outbreak in the DRC is the fastest ever observed, raising additional concerns about the capacity to contain and respond to new infections.

The situation continues to evolve, and authorities and international organizations are closely monitoring the development of events, seeking ways to help control the outbreak and protect the population.
